Artist Trading Coins

When your creativity fails you get together with other creative people, I recently had the opportunity to spend crafty time with friends, we had a blast making a mixed media canvas and discussed a few new trends that are happening in the craft world.

One of these was Artist Trading Coins, I hadn’t heard of them before but they sounded fun. This week I had some free time and couldn’t wait to give them a try. I checked out a video from Crafty Hodges on YouTube for inspiration.

What is an Artist Trading Coin (ATC)? They are 2.5″ circles of card which are embellished, you can then either use them in other craft projects or trade them with your arty friends.

I used a stitched circle die to cut out 4 circles of card, I then went through a magazine and die cut some interesting patterns, unintentionally I ended up using the back side of each that I’d cut. I love the neutral tones in each of the backgrounds.

Going through my embellishment’s I pulled out a few different word stickers and die cuts and layered them up one by one. I created some texture using a stencil and ink pad and used the same colour to antique the edges.

I loved making them so much that we are having a swap over in the Facebook Group HERE, please feel free to come and join in.
